Peer Review Process
The Ghana Mining Journal adheres to strict ethical standards in publishing and follows a double-blind peer-review process to ensure the validity, originality, and significance of published work. In all instances, a minimum of two independent reviewers are assigned to each paper. Papers that are judged by the Editorial Board to be below the standard of the GMJ are rejected promptly without external review.
Every article must undergo peer review prior to publication. Reviewed papers may be accepted in the submitted form, may require minor or major revision or may be rejected. Authors will proof-read their papers before publishing; however, no new material may be inserted in the text at the time of proofreading without the prior consent of the Editor-in-Chief.
The Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board have the authority to make the final decision on accepting or rejecting a submission irrespective of comments of reviewers and corrections by authors. This policy applies to all manuscripts, including those submitted for special issues.
Plagiarism Detection
To maintain originality, word reuse should be limited, properly attributed, or enclosed in quotation marks, with all sources fully referenced. The Ghana Mining Journal employs Turnitin’s Similarity Check to assist editors in identifying potential plagiarism efficiently. The journal considers a similarity score of less than 20% acceptable.
